FAQ

“I don’t have any children or animal material.”
These have rarely appeared in independent films, so their importance has been reduced ^^
In storyboards, it is important to determine the “positional relationship / composition”, and in the case of children, I think it can be handled by treating human storyboards as children.
Animals will move around unless there is a specialized trainer, so I have to do my best on the day of shooting (experienced by the operator).
In that case, I think that the storyboard where the animals appear is blank (only the frame).
* Blank material is also included.

“Is there more than three person’s cuts?”
It is a storyboard material for up to two people.
If there are three or more people, how about deciding only the positional relationship between the two main people and placing the other people on the shooting day?
Or you can process the material to increase the number of people.

“I want a more beautiful storyboard”
The illustration is intentionally simple.

In my opinion, I think that storyboards have two major purposes.
– To collect ideas in advance
– For giving specific instructions to the photographer at the shooting site

All you need is a strong understanding of camera work, composition and shooting.
In other words, no other information is needed. It is not efficient to draw beautiful scenery or draw costumes.

In addition, it is almost always necessary to make corrections depending on the situation at the shooting site, so I think it is better not to draw details in advance.

* Detailed storyboards are also useful for TV commercials because the scale is short, but general movie works require a fairly large storyboard. So it’s better to keep going simple and fast.

“I do not have a PowerPoint”
Basically, I make a kit assuming that I use PowerPoint.
I think that the storyboard material itself can do something similar with words.
You can also do the same with other image processing software, such as Illustrator from Adobe.

“PowerPoint guideline is not displayed”
With the PowerPoint running, please check the menu bar → [View] → [Guide] → [Fixed Guide].I think a guide line will appear.

“The guideline of PowerPoint has been moved.”
Download a new one, or move around and fix it.
